From the moment my parents gave me the gift of an inexpensive 35 mm camera when I was in my early teens, I developed an eye and a love for capturing moments on film. My love of travel photography began when I took my first trip out of the country to Mexico on a mission trip in high school. After this visit, I yearned to learn how I could help the people I saw in need. As a result I sought a degree in International and Family Health which provided the mechanism to obtain an international public health job. My job, coupled with my race against time to visit cultures less affected by Westernism, provides the opportunities to photograph people in their culture you see in this site.

Visiting Asia and falling in love with the faces of that region further inspired me. I discovered the joy of capturing everyday life, while highlighting the faces that show what books do not tell. Although I have not received any formal photography training, I continue to search for moments that will inspire others to also go out and see the world. One of my favorite sayings is, “It’s all about the journey, not about the destination” — which I attempt to convey through photography, bringing out the feel of people and places I meet during my journeys to various destinations around the world. I hope you enjoy my photos as much as I enjoyed meeting the people and learning about the differences and commonalities among us all. My hope is to inspire others to take their own journeys, learn from others, and experience this wonderful world God created.

My thanks to my good friend and colleague, Carla Poindexter White, for the creation of this site.
